Good Book

Since we were already practicing organic farming on our terrace, most of the concepts explained in this book weren't new to us. However this book has a lot more info and lucidly explains some common chores to be done. Overall a must buy for anyone interested in city farming.

Going GREEN and DIRTY ! the right way

To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow. GLAD I DID.
It all started with organic terrace farming workshop and this gardening book by Prabal Mallick. Having lived in city,I had no clue about farming but always interested in. This interactive book, included training on making potting mix, seedlings, compost, manures and pest management. Im so glad I could finally create my own little garden/organic farm at terrace. With continuous guidance of book, I have already grown Lettuce, Zucchini, Cucumber, Tomatoes, Ginger, Garlic, Strawberry, Pepper, Lemon, Dwarf Oranges, Beans, Basil, Lemon Grass, Carom (ajwain), Raddish, Beetroot, Coriander, Spinach, Fenugreek leaf, ladyfinger, Mustard leaf , Chili etc this winters. Im creating my own organic compost and soil fertilizer Amrut Jal too. His book has helped so I don’t keep forgetting. I think little more guidance on ‘seedling’ is needed in the book. Me and my family, including my 3 year old is having a great time going green and dirty AND not to forget ‘healthy’ with organic fresh vegetables.

I had bought a couple of books in the US on urban gardening earlier and had found them to be quite a rip off. As this book came at much lower cost and I had been following this very useful blog I decided to buy this book. Finally I got a book which has all the information I was looking for to start my home garden. My only problem however is that the book is an e-book. I would have actually loved to have a printed book.

The "Organic Urban Farming Crash Course" organised by Sri.Prabal Mallik, Founder, Organic Terrace and Ms.Shweta Agarwal, Director, Paz Farming has come to my fortunes at the right time when I was in need of it the most.

I knew that my desire was ripe to start my own terrace vegetable garden but was unsure of how to start one. I came to the program with almost zero gardening experience.
